Grant Opportunities

At various times over the course of the year, state and federal governments release announcements for grants.

Mo-Kan Regional Council recently submitted two Department of Natural Resources wastewater applications to fund feasibility studies.

The grant round for MoDOT's Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) is expected to open August 31. The TAP grant can be used for construction or replacement of sidewalks, trails and other non-motorized transportation needs.

The grant rounds for FEMA Pre-Disaster Mitigation (PDM) and Flood Disaster Mitigation (FDM) are expected to open October 1. The PDM grant can be used for safe rooms,  outdoor warning sirens and other mitigation activities/projects. Interested communities and counties must submit a Notice of Interest (NOI) prior to submitting an application.

The Kansas Department of Commerce Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) will be accepting Community Facilities applications until November 1, 2018.

The Missouri Department of Economic Development is pleased to announce that the State Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) will be accepting a second round of 2018 applications in the following funding categories:

1. General Infrastructure

2. Community Facilities

3. Demolition

The applications will be due to the CDBG office by close of business on October 1, 2018. Applications, and application guidelines can be found at:https://ded.mo.gov/conte…/community-development-block-grants

In addition, the Missouri CDBG program will hold an application training session on August 14, 2018 to teach participants how to complete the FY2018 CDBG application for non-entitlement areas of the state (cities of less than 50,000 and counties of less than 200,000 in population). Participants will learn the basic application requirements, plus more specific information geared toward each category of funding. Applications will be available at the workshop and will also be available on the Missouri Department of Economic Development website. The workshop is free and open to the public, and no registration is necessary.

As part of the Missouri Department of Economic Development, CDBG assists Missouri communities to improve local facilities, address critical health and safety concerns, and create a greater capacity for development. For more information, please contact us at 573-751-3600.
